Match Report

Made to remain patient by the stubborn Championship visitors, the Blues eventually broke the deadlock through Armando Broja's header just before the hour mark.

His glancing effort placed the hosts in control and Thiago Silva soon netted the second goal, his clever flick from a corner beating Freddie Woodman for power.

Just three minutes later, Raheem Sterling racked up Blues' third of the evening.

Cole Palmer was brought down on the edge of the area, leaving Sterling to step up after a stuttering run-up and whip a bending effort over the wall and into the net.

There was still time for Enzo Fernandez to hit the fourth after Sterling's good work.
