Chelsea and Barcelona yet to agree on a transfer fee for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Chelsea and Barcelona are still yet to agree a transfer fee for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports.

Aubameyang has emerged as a target for the Blues, with Thomas Tuchel keen to strengthen his front line ahead of the transfer window closing, and they have entered into negotiations with the Catalan giants.

However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Barcelona want €30m (£25.3m) for the forward, which is a figure that Chelsea are currently unwilling to meet.

'There’s still no agreement between Chelsea and Barcelona for Pierre Aubameyang. Talks ongoing but the price tag around €30m is creating issues,' Romano posted on Twitter on Tuesday evening.

'Chelsea are not open to pay that fee for Aubameyang… there’s still work to be done in next round of talks.'

Chelsea have already spent upwards of £150m this summer under new owner Todd Boehly, bringing in the likes of Raheem Sterling, Marc Cucurella and Kalidou Koulibaly.

They have also been linked with Leicester's Wesley Fofana in recent weeks, with Brendan Rodgers revealing that the Foxes have turned down three bids from their Premier League counterparts for the defender.

Meanwhile, Everton winger Anthony Gordon is another player that Chelsea are interested in, and it has been reported that the west London club would be willing to pay as much as £60m for the youngster.

They want to spend significantly less on Aubameyang, though, who turned 33 in June.

The Gabon striker has fallen down the pecking order at the Nou Camp this season following the arrival of Robert Lewandowski, but has proven himself in the Premier League before during his time at Arsenal.

He netted 92 goals in 163 games for the Gunners before terminating his contract earlier this year after falling out with manager Mikel Arteta.
