Chelsea did not register a number of youth players over several seasons, a report from FIFA into the Blues' dealings confirmed on Thursday.

The Premier League club were unable to sign players in the summer - and currently will be unable to acquire players in January - due to the mishandling of player registrations.

Now, the staggering statistics behind it all have emerged, with a grand total of 150 rule breaches involving 71 youngsters.

The full findings, released in a 44-page document by FIFA, show the number of games unregistered youth team members played for the club, and in doing so dismissed Chelsea's defence against the rule breaches.

One unnamed player turned out 75 times for the club between 2013-16, despite being registered as a trialist for just 18 weeks.

Bertrand Traore, the Burkina Faso striker who is now at Lyon, played for three years at the club before his eventual registration in 2014.
