Chelsea transfer news: The Blues have been handed a lifeline late in the window and it could see them complete a stunning piece of business with Jadon Sancho finally heading to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea's record when it comes to transfers over the past decade has been hit and miss. Most clubs have similar stories of failures and deals that went wrong, turned bad and all hope is soon forgotten. However, for the same team that secured Eden Hazard ahead of rivals for £30million, got over 100 goals from him and then sold at more than three times the price, there are players like Alvaro Morata littered in the smallprint.
The real winner here, and the only winner as is often the case, is Brighton. They sold Cucurella, moved in Pervis Estupinan and could probably recoup more than £60million for him whilst their former left-back goes unwanted just 12 months after moving at the top of his game.
Although there are not any concrete reports to link this to, Chelsea fans have expressed their desire and intrigue to once more see the club push for Jadon Sancho in the face of potential talks with the Red Devils over Cucurella. Sancho has featured in all of the games so far this season but not played more than half an hour off the bench for Erik ten Hag.
Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen, Antony, Marcus Rashford and now Mason Mount are all in the thinking ahead of Sancho and his return of just nine goals and assists in 58 games is still thoroughly disappointing. There have been flashes of a return to the form that got the world - Chelsea included - snapping at Borussia Dortmund's heels to sign him in 2021, but nothing to bring a genuine justification for his big-money move.
Some of his better performances in England have come centrally where he can operate as a finisher and elite dribbler rather than counter-attacking pacey wideman. He has the ability to drift to the flanks and excite. With the clubs in direct conversation over one expensive flop, why not chuck in another name to at least start a dialogue and see if things are possible.

I see some Chelsea fans commenting we don't want him we don't do this we don't want that, at the end of the day you don't make decisions, I love Jason Sancho as I love the Felix you all are talking about, but Felix is longing for a move to Barcelona and poch made it clear that he wants players that are committed to the club... I will take Sancho, it doesn't mean that as it didn't work out for him at united it wouldn't work out for him at Chelsea, unless he refuses but will tell if poch gets his hands on this guy man u fans will be longing for him again, Sterling is the testimony of that, little by little people will start seeing the raheem sterling of Liverpool back, I know the hate Chelsea fans have for him but I am seeing changes in his game, so Sancho is a bag of talent he just needs game time and confidence to perform again... so am not against it even though I know it might take long to find form, cos we're not participants in any European competitions, he's still young and a project as well like the owners said...
