Chelsea complete the signing of 18-year-old Alex Matos from Norwich City

Chelsea have completed the signing of prospect Alex Matos from Norwich City.

As reported by Chelsea's official website, Matos is capable of performing effectively as a central midfielder or out wide, while he has also occasionally been used up front.

Matos joins Chelsea on a free transfer following the conclusion of his contract at Norwich.

Last season Matos has made 13 appearances for Norwich's Under-21 side in the second tier of Premier League 2 and provided three assists.

Previously capped by England at Under-15 level, he is seen as a player with a very bright future.

Matos featured for Norwich at Under-18 level when he was still a schoolboy.

He made the switch to Norwich from Luton Town's academy as an Under-12s player.

Matos signed scholarship terms with Norwich in the summer of 2021.

In total Matos played 42 times for Norwich Under-18s and scored nine goals, while he provided seven assists.
