Chelsea are considering a surprise move for defender Ben White in the January transfer window.
The talented centre-back has been very impressive on loan at Leeds from Brighton this season.
White's deal at Brighton runs until the summer of 2022, and the Seagulls are reluctant to lose him, but, as reported by The Sun, they could accept an offer of £25million if Chelsea are willing to pay that much.
Chelsea have conceded 25 goals in the Premier League this season and 22-year-old White is seen as a possible option to help the Blues become more resilient at the back.
White was released by Southampton at the age of 16 but was offered a scholarship deal by Brighton and has gained experience on loan at Newport County and Peterborough.
Although he is most at home at the heart of the defence, the youngster is also capable of playing at right-back if required.
Chelsea would certainly benefit from having an extra centre-back to add to Frank Lampard's existing options in that position of Kurt Zouma, Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Fikayo Tomori.
Lampard's side suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Bournemouth on Saturday and have lost four of their last five league games.

Chelsea is not EFL Championship players dream place... It is enough to have talented players such as Abraham, Tomori and Mount... But actually we need a world class defender who has experience, not an amateur who will put us in big trouble.

With Lampard I think Chelsea will need him to partner Tomori at the heart of our defense. He's an English Central half he's good.

I think Chelsea will need experience rather than talent at centre back. Tomori is doing a fantastic job but there is a lot of cover required from Zouma, who himself is lacking some experience.
