Chelsea 'are eyeing a move for Bayern Munich ace Robert Lewandowski this summer' should the Premier League club avoid a year-long transfer ban.
The club have appealed the punishment from FIFA and should they be spared, the Polish striker is high on the priority list as the club look to bridge the gap in order to produce a title challenge.
Lewandowski's representatives, according to the Mirror, have had contact with officials at Chelsea to assess the striker's availability, with Bayern set to overhaul their squad.
Lewandowski finds himself at the centre of discussions every summer with Real Madrid long-standing admirers of the former Borussia Dortmund man.
Despite turning 31 in August, Lewandowski would not be allowed to leave the Allianz Arena cheaply and Chelsea, if they do push for a move, could be looking at the prospect of a £70million deal.
The Pole is rightly considered one of the finest strikers in Europe and on Saturday he reached 200 Bundesliga goals in the 5-0 rout against title rivals Dortmund, restoring them to the summit of the table.

Lewandowski is my favorite striker, but I feel it's better for him to stay at Bayern. There he's already a legend. Don't come here and waste the last couple years of your career. We'll find someone else who's younger. Would love to see him tear up the premier league and go head to head with Aguero for the golden boot tho... but I'm afraid he'll flop like our strikers always do since Costa left.

If this happens the club is a joke, are they seriously trying to make sure all our forward options are 30+ smh. We need a director of football immediately. Enough with this nonsense. I remember last year in the January window the same crap was going on. What is with this club and their aged player fetish.... Lewa was and still is class but to being him in when he is about to decline is the dumbest thing this club can do...

He's 31 not ideal if we're getting a transfer ban, the best thing to do is buy a young talented strikers like Luka Jovic for example or recall one of your own in the name of Abraham. We already bought a 31 yes old striker ( Higuian ) where did that get us, 2 goals against 2 relegation side. Lewandoski at best would give us 2 years maximum.

Getting a 31year old striker for a sum of atleast 70million is not ideal for any football club, Lewandowski is a world class player but Chelsea has to consider his age most of our players are ageing so why should we be bringing in more old players instead of young players, we desperately need a director of football asap if Chelsea can’t get one immediately then I don’t know what it wants.
