Chelsea reveal bold new home shirt for 2019-20 with Hazard front and centre

Chelsea have officially launched the latest Nike creation, the home kit for the upcoming 2019-20 season.

As seen in recent leaks, it is very much ‘90s inspired and is basically a knock-off of the 1992 home shirt. It features a somewhat abstract all-over pattern, inspired by various features of the stands at Stamford Bridge. It’s complemented by blue shorts and white socks.

It's blue -- no major surprise there -- but it's also covered in a motif reminiscent of that which you'd see on the seats of the London bus than runs past Stamford Bridge.

Eden Hazard has been charged with modelling the new shirt -- along with teammates Cesar Azpilicueta and Ethan Ampadu -- though there's a strong chance it might be enough to finally convince him to make the leap to Real Madrid.

According to the official blurb, the abstract pattern is actually made up of various images of the Stamford Bridge architecture, which have all been mashed up and knitted together.

Chelsea will debut the new strip for the first time on May 5 during the club's final league home game of the season against Watford.

But the joy was short-lived as fans hit out at the wacky design of the kit... and the fact that it will set you back an eye-watering £89.95 if you want to wear it.

Fans feeling particularly positive could even buy a version of the strip with Hazard's name and the No 10 on the back, with that coming in at an even pricier £102.90.
