Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has taken his transfer spending to over £1billion following the confirmation of latest acquisition Cole Palmer.
The American has taken just three windows to reach the lavish landmark, with Palmer's £42.5m move from Manchester City becoming the deal to take them over the mind-blowing figure.
Raheem Sterling became the first signing under the Boehly ownership last summer, with his £47.5m arrival kicking off a summer that also saw, among others, the arrival of defenders Wesley Fofana for £73m and £34m Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Blues spent £250m in the 2022 summer window, before splashing the cash once again in January on a slew of big name transfers.
Enzo Fernandez was the most expensive as he became the club's record signing at £106.7m before being joined by Mykhalio Mudryk (£89m) and the near £70m spent on Benoit Badiashile and Noni Madueke.
Such was the club's spending that of the £815m spent in January, Chelsea contributed £308m of the total.
A spent which was more than the rest of Europe's top five leagues combined.
It saw the west London club's total spend for the season go over £650m, and that's without adding in the pay-offs to mangers Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter - both who were sacked by Boehly.
For all the spending, however, it didn't help the performances on the pitch.
As Chelsea went through four managers in 2022-23, only to see the club finish in 12th place - the lowest top-flight finish since 1994.
In the summer Mauricio Pochettino was handed the reigns as coach and another vast layout was made on new players.
Christopher Nkunku was the first to arrive in a £53m deal from RB Leipzig, although fans are yet to see the Frenchman in action after an injury in pre-season.
He was joined by forward Nicolas Jackson and defender Axel Disasi, before topping the £100m barrier again to lure Moises Caciedo away from Brighton and out of reach of Liverpool.
Romeo Lavia's move from Southampton for £58m then brought the Blues close to the £1b mark, before finally going over the landmark figure with the signing of Palmer.

Honestly I don’t really understand Todd Boehly and his philosophy of business. That money could have been spent well and wisely. Why bringing in kids for the future alone, players like Mbappe, Gvardiol, Kimmich and Diogo Costa should have been brought in for this project to balance the squad and to win trophies. Now we have to be waiting for 4-5 years to win a single trophy as a club, Sir Roman wouldn’t have done this to us………Todd Boehly is only concerned with his business!!
Go back and think about what you said because the owner did a good job. A club full of top top players can never win anything special use psg as an example

you just been delusional. how do you know they're quality? they haven't proven anything in football yet. Maybe Kovaic is better because he has proven himself at Chelsea, winning a lot of trophies for us.
they are because there playing in a quality team and quality manager, stop embarrassing yourself, your club has been average in all departments buddy, learn some football, Chelsea is one of the worst run clubs in England

Good result is not only made or depended on the amount of money spent on buying and buying. Good result is from a stable squad; hard and day to day training; understanding and practicing between players; knowing and communication of coach between players and the effectiveness of players in carrying out game plans and tactics. It takes time to build up a strong squad even you have 11 CR7.

Instead of them to buh matured players than can deliver us trophies, can inexperienced players with inexperienced manager deliver us something , they are making the team like Ajax , they will mould these players and sell them to our rivals ,useless owners for buying inexperienced players and an elite team like Chelsea , my Chelsea supporters these owners doesn’t hav anything good thing for us , look for another team and support otherwise broken heart and diabetes is on ur door bcoz pochettino can never take u to de promise land
