Your morning Chelsea transfer round-up on Thursday, August 17.

Lavia debut issue

Southampton director of football Jason Wilcox has given Chelsea fans cause to doubt the likelihood of Romeo Lavia signing in time to make his debut against West Ham on Sunday.

The Blues are set to play their second game of the season as they travel to the London Stadium to face David Moyes' side on August 20 and despite a scheduled medical for Lavia, Wilcox has explained that things could yet go on a bit longer before confirmation.

"I think you know, it's well known that we've had some significant interest in Romeo, we've had an offer which we accepted from Liverpool," he said at a fans' forum event on Tuesday. "Then Chelsea came to the table.

"So we're currently in negotiation with Chelsea now so it's a real tricky period for Romeo. But I'm confident that something will get done in the next week or so or in the next few days."

Medical completed

Chelsea have taken another step towards completing a staggering summer squad transformation after Hakim Ziyech underwent a medical with Turkish side Galatasaray.

Ziyech failed his medical tests ahead of a proposed move to Saudi Arabia earlier in the summer, frustrating all parties as a deal was eventually called off late on.

With just one year left on his Chelsea contract Ziyech is angling for a long awaited move away, as are Callum Hudson-Odoi and Romelu Lukaku.

Olise issue

Reports suggest that Crystal Palace are disappointed with the methods used by Chelsea as they near a deal for French winger Michael Olise. The Blues agreed a fee with the Eagles ahead of a move and personal terms aren't expected to be an issue but there may yet be a late twist.

Ben Jacobs writes: "Although Crystal Palace aren’t happy with Chelsea’s approach to Michael Olise, #CFC sources insist no rules were broken. Palace have not made an official complaint but did express ‘tapping up’ concerns to informally to Chelsea."

The 21-year-old is currently injured but is expected to return in the coming weeks.
