Raheem Sterling might only have signed for Chelsea just less than two weeks ago, but he already has a mural at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea's official social media accounts have shared the image of the former Manchester City star celebrating in Chelsea's colours, in a mural planted on the West Stand inside the stadium.

The £50million signing will be able to get a good view of his mural when the Blues play Premier League rivals Tottenham, in their first home game of the new season on August 14.

Sterling, who was born in Jamaica, moved to London at the age of five where he grew up and played for Queens Park Rangers in their academy - before switching to Liverpool at the age of 15.

On Chelsea's Twitter account, they shared the image of the mural along with the caption 'back on home soil', in reference to the England star's move back to London.

Sterling enjoyed a highly successful seven-year stint at the Etihad, where he won four Premier League titles, alongside a host of domestic cup trophies.

Thomas Tuchel's side will be hoping Sterling can have a similar impact at Stamford Bridge, as the Blues look to close the gap on rivals Manchester City and Liverpool.

He made his debut off the bench during a penalty shoot-out defeat to MLS side Charlotte FC, before making his first start in their 4-0 thumping by Arsenal during their tour of the United States.

Chelsea have one further pre-season game to go against Udinese, before they kick off their Premier League campaign against Frank Lampard's Everton on August 6.

Sterling scored 131 goals in 339 appearances during his time at the Etihad, and without a notable number nine at Stamford Bridge, will be heavily relied upon to score goals at Chelsea this season.

Though fans are excited about his signing, there has been a mixed reaction to his hero's welcome mural.

Matt Bentley commented: 'We serious? I'm a big Raheem fan but we can't be putting him on walls at this point?'

Another fan posted that it was 'too soon' for Chelsea to put a mural up of Sterling inside Stamford Bridge.

Other fans liked what they saw though, with one fan saying: 'What a painting! Welcome to the Bridge Raheem.

'Hopefully you bang in 20+ goals & 20+ assists this season & seasons to go!'
