Chelsea 'are considering a move for PSV Eindhoven's England Under-21 winger Noni Madueke' as manager Graham Potter tries to turn their season around.

The Blues have won just two of their last nine matches and were humiliated 4-0 by Manchester City in the FA Cup third round on Sunday, piling the pressure on Potter.

But the former Brighton manager will be given time to save Chelsea's season and is being backed in the January transfer market.

They have reached a verbal agreement with Atletico Madrid for the £9million loan signing of Portugal star Joao Felix, beating Manchester United and Arsenal to his signature.

The Stamford Bridge club have also secured the signings of Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile for £35m, Molde striker David Datro Fofana for £8m and Vasco da Gama midfielder Andrey Santos for £18m.

Now, according to The Times, they are considering a move for 20-year-old Madueke.

Born in Barnet, north London, Madueke spent times in the academies at Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur before moving to Dutch club PSV in June 2018.

He has since played 78 times for their first-team, scoring 19 goals and this has earned him international recognition with four caps for England's Under-21s.

Madueke is contracted to PSV until 2025, meaning they could demand a far higher price than his market estimate of around £13m.

He has also reportedly attracted the interest of AC Milan after scoring twice against them in a mid-season friendly last month.

It comes as Chelsea have reportedly stepped up talks to sign the France forward Marcus Thuram, 25, from Borussia Monchengladbach.

Potter will hope an infusion of young talent into his squad will improve their fortunes and ease the pressure on his shoulders, with a section of Chelsea fans singing the name of his predecessor Thomas Tuchel at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

The Blues return to action in the Premier League when they play at Fulham on Thursday night.
