Chelsea will listen to transfer offers for midfield duo in January

Chelsea will listen to offers for midfielders Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Carney Chukwuemeka.

Enzo Maresca is prepared to allow the fringe duo leave on loan in January - but their big wages will prove problematic. Any agreement would need Chelsea to contribute a percentage of their wages to get them off the wage bill.

Just six months after his £30million exit, Leicester have registered their interest in resigning Dewsbury-Hall next month. Dewsbury-Hall has largely been consigned to playing in the Europa Conference League and among the second string.

Chukwuemeka, 21, could also depart with Crystal Palace long-term admirers. He arrived at Stamford Bridge from Aston Villa as a teenager in a £20m deal but he has found himself a bit-part player again this season.

Maresca has admitted that Dewsbury-Hall initially "struggled to accept" the fact that he was not a starter at Chelsea, telling the Daily Mail last month: "Kiernan was, at Leicester, the most important player.

"He moved to Chelsea to be one other player. You have to accept that. Probably at the beginning, you struggle to accept that. Now it's getting better. Me as a manager, I am very happy with Kiernan, no doubt.

"But for sure for him, he has to continue to work, wait for the chance and take it, in the way he is doing in the Conference League. He is doing OK."

Chukwuemeka, meanwhile, almost left Chelsea over the summer with Maresca admitting that a move away from Stamford Bridge would have been "better" for him. "I will say exactly the same thing I have said many times," he told reporters earlier this year.

"Carney is a very good player, but for the amount of players we have, we decided at the beginning of the season it is probably better to leave and go somewhere, prove himself and playing 30 or 35 games than being here and play less games.

"Unfortunately that didn't happen. He is our player. He had some minutes the other day, today he was not involved. Hopefully, we can give him more minutes."
