Chelsea starlet Marc Guehi is due to complete a loan move to Swansea that will see him reunited with his former England under-17 boss Steve Cooper and team-mate Rhian Brewster.
Swansea have agreed an 18-month loan deal for highly-rated centre-back Guehi with Chelsea which will be finalised on Thursday once he completes a medical and the final pieces of paperwork.
The agreement is understood to include a break clause at the end of the season.
But the intention is for Guehi, 19, to spend the rest of this campaign and whole of next in Wales and continue his development with regular football.
Chelsea hope the long-term loan will accelerate Guehi’s development and he will return ready to be a Chelsea regular, just as Andreas Christensen was after spending two seasons at Borussia Monchengladbach.
Swansea manager Cooper is delighted to land Guehi amid competition from a number of his Championship rivals.
Guehi was part of the England under-17 side that won the World Cup in 2017.
Cooper’s side then was spearheaded by striker Brewster, who was top scorer in the tournament and also joined Swansea on loan this week.
Guehi has made two appearances for Chelsea’s first team, EFL Cup starts against Grimsby and Manchester United this season.

That's true..I remember how bad it got for Zouma when he was loaned to Stoke City. We should be very particular about the type of clubs to send players on loan. This is a very good point.
Yeah the move to Everton was decent but the Stoke one was a bit baffling imo. It's like the club literally wanted to use Kurt as a cash cow by having him on loan multiple times. Luckily Frank came in at the right time, when a defensive coach in Mourinho who is very picky about his defenders recognises the talent in a player, you know they are great so I always knew Kurt Zouma would be a huge player for us in the future. As for Guehi i get Zouma vibes but with even better composure. I like the player a lot from what little I've seen of him. Him qne Lamptey as well as Gilmour and Anjorin are ones to watch for the future and on top of that the new young striker fabemi as well.

I do agree but at the same time I feel a struggling club is also a tough one to go in loan to cos overall if they get relegated the team may look at you as part of their relegation issue. A mid thaler Bundesliga move would be brilliant but I dont think any of the mid table teams in the bundesliga are looking for a player on loan at the moment...

If we can give him to one of the struggling clubs who could do with his services like Werder Bremen for instance, he could thrive.

My only concern is game time otherwise Bundesliga is an amazing destination for development but their league is getting somewhat competitive recently for this period so game time would be scarce...

I feel that maybe it's a bit different in Ampadu's case. Maybe his fitness is another concern which is why he hasn't played enough games. However, let's not forget the players who had thrived in the Bundesliga on loan - KDB, Christensen, Batshuayi to name a few. And we're seeing some really good young talents prospering at the Bundesliga when they never quite seemed good enough to play for PL teams. Sancho and Gnabry are absolutely killing it over there so the potential is huge and we can't ignore this. Even if we loan the players to the Championship, there's no guarantee they will be good enough to adapt to a much more intense league like the PL. You'd still prefer having a player loaned out to a club in first division football in a less intense league but with quality experienced international players and coaches around them to help them develop their careers.

I'm actually against that bro unless it's to a mid table Bundesliga team. Seeing how Ampadu is barely played to the point of most of us forgetting he exists, the last place players should go for experience is Bundesliga with it's ever growing competition now. Championship, Ligue 1 or another 2nd tier league would be good for development.

I wish we could loan him to the Bundesliga which is the best league to get the most out of young talents or maybe even Ligue 1

I'm sorry, you're mistaken. Guehi doesn't play for Manchester United.

Swansea isnt levels for hik but at the same time he would probably start so I guess it makes sense as a good deal for his future till he comes back. A 2 year loan deal would be very beneficial and if I'm honest this player from all the current 18 age bracket range excites me the most along with Gilmour at the club. I think 2 years out on loan would be perfect.
