Chivu urges Inter not to underestimate Liverpool despite Mohamed Salah breakdown

The 33-year-old did not hold back when asked about his situation at Liverpool and relationship with manager Arne Slot after he was benched for the 3-3 draw with Leeds on Saturday (December 6).

Salah stated that his relationship with the manager has completely broken down and believes he has been thrown under the bus for the club’s poor form.

Liverpool will face Serie A giants Inter Milan on Tuesday (December 9), but Salah won’t be involved after being disciplined by the club.

Speaking ahead of the game, Inter manager Chivu has warned his side against complacency, stating that Salah absence is no cause for celebration.

"Momo (Salah) is important on a world-class level, but these are not problems that concern us. It’s not my concern," Chivu said bluntly.

"I know that they have players who can replace him, and that Liverpool will therefore maintain a high level as they always have done throughout their history.

“We’re talking about teams, not individuals. That is why we have to worry about what the group does, not about individuals. They have a lot of quality."
