New Brentford signing Christian Eriksen returned to competitive football for the first time since his cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 last summer.
Eriksen, who turned 30 years old on Monday, assisted the first goal of the match and played for 60 minutes as Brentford beat Southend United 3-2.
The Dane had his contract at Inter terminated after he was suspended from playing in Italy because of his cardiac device implant, which is outlawed in Serie A.
In January, he signed a six-month contract with Brentford to return to the Premier League, having spent seven years at Tottenham Hotspur.
