The busy festive schedule may have taken its toll on Huddersfield defender Christopher Schindler on Wednesday night.
The German centre-back was sent off for two bookable offences as the bottom side in the Premier League slipped to another defeat.
But the 28-year-old, playing his fourth game in 12 days, appeared to not understand why referee Mike Dean had given him his marching orders.
As he walked towards the tunnel he was deep in conversation with fourth official Michael Oliver, who appeared to point out to Schindler that he was already on a yellow card.
He appeared to mouth 'two' and seemed more than a little shocked at receiving a red card.
Matt Upson revealed on Match of the Day: 'When he makes the foul [the first yellow] he almost walks off, and I don't think he actually turns around and acknowledges from the referee that he's been booked.
'So then he makes the second foul, another clumsy tackle, he doesn't actually know he's been booked the first time.'
An eighth defeat in a row has seen the Terriers fall eight points adrift of safety, with Burnley pulling clear in 16th as a result of their 2-1 win.
