Manchester United midfielder Fred was booked for diving after a challenge by Nicolas Otamendi in the area.

Referee Mike Dean thought the way he went down was not consistent with any contact.
However, after watching the replays, it was clear Otamendi kicked Fred's shin. As a result, a penalty should have been awarded.

I wish Dean had been advised to take a look at the monitor at Old Trafford, because I am sure he would have reversed his decision and given the spot-kick.
Instead VAR made the final decision — and it was the wrong one.

I remember the complaints when it was revealed he's appointed to officiate this match, now I totally agree with those complainants.

Thank you. No one talks about Man Utd being favoured by VAR. There is a lot of inconsistency with the way VAR decisions are made.

since the penalty wasn't given, var should postpone it to our next match against Tottenham. so we have a penalty to take ahead of the match

I really don't understand the meaning of having VAR if they can't collect the referee into making right decisions... Instead they are the ones making all sorts of wrong decisions... Fred didn't deserve to be booked... And a penalty you have been given to united

Mike Dean made lots of calls in that game that will make you wonder if he hated us or played a bet (in favor of City) and this is the second time in a row that Fred has been booked for something he didn't do I hope this trend stops

VAR decisions not to give panalty against man city vs man utd absoulately rubbish and disgusting. Referee should go and check the monitor whether its yellow card or panalty or fred give a dive he should check himself on field tv and VAR must inform the referee go n check your decision. lastly VAR and Referee must work together to avoid this kind of mistake plz
