Coleen Rooney has reportedly won her battle to bring her family back to the United Kingdom as husband Wayne is poised for an astonishing return to English football.
The 33-year-old WAG moved Stateside with her other half, 33, and their sons Kai, nine, Klay, six, Kit, three, and 17-month-old Cass in July last year when Wayne signed with MLS side DC United.
Yet Coleen was said to be homesick after making the move, and wanted her children to settle down to life in the UK.
Now Wayne - who is 13 months into a three-year contract with DC United in Major League Soccer - is expected to finalise a move to Pride Park on Tuesday.
The forward flew back to England on Monday night after planing for months how to make the next step in his career by moving into management.
Wayne signed a 2.5-year, $13 million deal with D.C. United last year, the biggest in the team's history.
Although he is contracted to DC United until next year, Wayne is reportedly keen to push through a move with the help of his agent, Paul Stretford, before the close of the summer window.
The news will no doubt be a major boost for Coleen, who has been pining for home since their move last summer.
As rumours of a transfer began swirling last week, a source told The Sun: 'This is seen as a major win for Coleen. She's put her foot down and told Wayne she wants their children to grow up in familiar surroundings in the UK and get them settled in local schools.
'And since she's got her wish, Coleen's the happiest she's been for years. It signals a new exciting era for the family.'
MailOnline has contacted Wayne and Coleen's representatives for comment.
Wayne previously spoke of his desire to go into management after he retires.
In June, he confessed: 'I'm taking steps to get my badges completed and when I finish playing I'll see what opportunities come up.
'There's already offers which have been made, but at the minute I am still a player and I want to enjoy playing, and then I'll see which offers are right when I do finish.'
Derby's manager Phillip Cocu would not confirm if they had signed Wayne, but revealed they were working on completing the team.
‘At the moment I can’t say anything. We are working on completing the team and we said it was not complete yet,’ said the former Barcelona player.
‘It’s true we’re working to get the team done but I can’t say anything about names before things are done.
'There are a few more days, hopefully something more can happen.’

I don't know why people enjoy picking on this girl so much.......her children look happy and healthy ok her marriage has had its challenges but who's doesn't.......lots of women say they would leave their partners if finances allowed, well hers do she is financially secure independent of her husband ...... and she still stays maybe just maybe she loves him and her life. What is she supposed to do not go on holiday, have a lovely home or buy nice clothes because it upsets people ....what she has is what most people aspire to so why knock someone when they achieve it......live and let live different strokes for different folks

I'm still stunned that she stayed with him. Where's your self respect Colleen? One mistake, ok maybe give it another go - but it's pretty much every time he goes out. I don't know how she can live like that.

She'll have had a shock when she moved there without her family. She's literally with them all the time. She's never had to raise her children on her own without her mum & dads help.
