Como have activated their \u20AC9m buy-back clause for midfield sensation Nico Paz as Tottenham miss out.

Having already secured the signatures of Ibrahima Konate, Marc Cucurella and Bernardo Silva, Real Madrid have agreed to seel Paz who is set to return to Como this summer.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Como will match Madrid’s €60M valuation in what is an unbelievable deal for the Italian side.

“EXCLUSIVE: Como agree deal with Real Madrid to buy Nico Páz on permanent move, here we go!

“Agreement reached as Como will re-buy Nico Páz from Real Madrid. Nico wanted to stay at Como.

“Real Madrid will keep control on Nico and maintain buy back clause.”

The Argentina star registered 12 league goals and six assists to guide Como into a historic top-four finish and Champions League qualification, providing the club with the funds necessary to snap him up.

This deal comes just days after reports claimed Real Madrid were prepared to officially inform Como of their firm intention to activate the bargain €9m buy-back clause, after which they would have sold the midfielder elsewhere.

Romano also reports that the deal includes “a heavy sell-on clause” which will allow Madrid to cash in on Paz even further when he eventually leaves Como in the future for what might be an even greater fee.

The moves comes as a hit to Tottenham who were in the running to sign Paz as De Zerbi rebuilds the North London club who were nearly relegated last season.

Spurs have already announced Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke as first team signings, but it looks like side will not add Paz to the fold.
