Conte's huge bonus if he leads Tottenham to Champions League

Antonio Conte has performed a fine job at Tottenham Hotspur so far, with the club standing on the brink of Champions League qualification.

Tottenham need a point from their final match of the season against Norwich City on Sunday to ensure their return to the Champions League.

According to the Times, Conte is in line for a 2.5 million pound bonus if his side secure fourth place.

The Italian coach took charge at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when Spurs were in ninth place in November.

He has picked up 53 points out of a possible 81, and Tottenham leapfrogged arch-rivals Arsenal into fourth spot with their victory over Burnley on Sunday.

Conte has made it clear to Spurs chairman Daniel Levy that he wants at least six signings in the summer transfer window.

These six signings would include three defenders, a midfielder and a forward, and he wants them to arrive before the club's pre-season tour of South Korea in July.

He also wants to offload a number of players from the current squad, such as Sergio Reguilon, Emerson Royal, Steven Bergwijn, Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele.

Tottenham are keeping a close eye on Brentford's Christian Eriksen, who is set to become a free agent at the end of June, and Leicester City's Youri Tielemans, who will be into the last year of his contract this summer.

When asked about his next move, Eriksen made clear that he wants to feature in Europe's premier club competition.

"I would love to play Champions League football again," Eriksen told Viaplay.

"I know how much fun it is, but it isn't essential for me."

Tottenham, meanwhile, are set to trigger an option to sign Dejan Kulusevski for 25m pounds this summer.

Cristian Romero will also join on a permanent deal for 42.5m pounds from Atalanta, having spent this season on loan from the Italian club.
