Cristiano Ronaldo insists 'I'm a better man' as he opens up on Man Utd departure

Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed he's now a better man following his dramatic exit from Manchester United late last year.

Ronaldo's return to the Red Devils had its fairytale start, with a brace against Newcastle United. However, it ended acrimoniously, as Ronaldo ran down the club in a bombshell interview with Piers Morgan on the eve of the World Cup.

And speaking ahead of Portugal's Euro 2024 qualifier with Liechtenstein Ronaldo has opened up on his post-United life. The 38-year-old said: "Sometimes, you have to go through some things to see who is on my side."

"I have no problem saying, I had a bad career run, but there's no time for regrets. Life goes on and, doing well or not, it was part of my growth.

"When we are at the top of the mountain, we often cannot see what is below. Now, I'm more prepared and learning that was important, because I had never been through this, like in the last few months. Now I'm a better man."

Ronaldo mutually left the Red Devils in December, and he officially signed for Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr a couple of weeks later.
