Goals from Connor Wickham and Andros Townsend helped earn Crystal Palace a place in the FA Cup fifth round at Tottenham's expense.
Match Events
9'GOAL! Crystal Palace 1-0 Tottenham (Wickham)
Schlupp had the initial shot from a tight angle on the right side of the six-yard box and Gazzaniga gets a hand to it, but he touches it in the direction of Wickham and he was in the right place at the right time to turn the ball into the empty net. 1-0 Palace!
17' CHANCE! Lucas' long shot over the bar
Lucas decides to have a go from the edge of the box. His shot is powerful and Speroni scrambles across his line to throw his arm up to make the save, but the effort is high and sails over the crossbar.
34'Penalty Goal! Crystal Palace 2-0 Tottenham (Townsend)
It was a confident strike and he drove the ball down the centre and over Gazzaniga to find the back of the net and double Palace's lead. 2-0 to the Eagles!
44'Penalty Missed! (Trippier)
He had to place the ball on the spot a couple of times due to the wind, but when he steps up to actually take it, he whips the ball well wide of the left post.
60' SAVE! Speroni denies Llorente's shot
Llorente has another chance from close range that Speroni saves. The forward kept the ball close to his body in the crowded box, but his attempt was weak and hit straight at the keeper, who pushed it away.
Match Report
Connor Wickham scored his first goal in more than two years as Crystal Palace compounded a miserable week for Tottenham with a 2-0 FA Cup fourth-round win at Selhurst Park.
Wickham had not started a match for Palace since November 2016, thanks largely to a long-term knee injury, but he needed just nine minutes to score his first goal in 799 days as a Spurs side featuring eight changes started slowly.
Palace kept the pressure on and won a penalty that ex-Spurs winger Andros Townsend converted after 34 minutes, and when Tottenham won a spot-kick of their own at the other end Kieran Trippier blasted it well wide.

Not looking good for Spurs, they best pray that the prem gets delayed for a longer period. And with UCL coming even if Kane returns they're screwed...

When Speroni can keep a clean sheet against your team, you know you have no goal threat. [Sadtolook]

Cupboard-bare Spurs out o FA Cup! Do you know why? It’s because the Spurs organization, as I have been saying since 2010, is inept. You might think this is harsh coming from one of their staunchest supporters over the years: 80, 90, 2000 to present. Remember me saying in these pages that though Mauricio is a good coach he is no Simone, though a better coach than Maradona. All coaches have some creativity and technical know/how but fat too few exercise common sense. This is a rare commodity. Just examine the EPL and tally the number of big coaches that have done surprisingly stupid things in the last 9 months and beyond. It’s more than a hand full. How could I have players resting up for the big day without match/much practice of any kind and then expect them to perform optimally? Then to compound this some thought the ‘coffers’ (team depth) was quite adequate. They like I said would be proven wrong once their theory and belief was properly tested. Exposed! Spur’s many flaws were sorely exposed, layer bare for all to see. If Mr Mauricio and Mr Levy do not quickly get a dose of realty downloaded the Spurs will continue to be also- rams. This, got a very long time. Spurs should have won the EPL on no fewer than three occasions since its inception, but alas there is only zilch, nada, zero, mil, nuttin fi sho! I’m not the best of coaches but I’m one of the most practical. I never leave common sense, it goes into my kit bag first! Look at your rivals and see what’s on their shelves, what’s in their so-called cupboard. I see we are related to mother Hubbard!
