Crystal Palace are pushing to finalise the £26m signing of Yeremy Pino from Villareal as their replacement for Eberechi Eze.
The Spain international is being convinced of a move to London while Palace will offer further bonus payments.
Meanwhile the Eagles have made an approach for Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji too.
City are thought to want in the region of £15m for the Swiss defender, who is seemingly no longer in manager Pep Guardiola's plans and has not featured in either of their opening Premier League fixtures.
The 30-year-old was left out of the matchday squad entirely as his side slumped to a 2-0 loss at Tottenham Hotspur after being an unused substitute at Wolves a week earlier.
Akanji, who made the move to Manchester in 2022 from Borussia Dortmund, is however also attracting interest from Turkish giants Galatasaray.
In what is becoming an increasingly hectic final week of the transfer window for the south London club, Palace also made a move last night for Christantus Uche.
The Getafe star man, 22, looked set to complete a £17m move to Wolves earlier this week after the two clubs reached an agreement.
But Uche is yet to sign off on the deal, leaving the door open for Palace to potentially swoop in and hijack.
Despite all the talk about potential incomings, the Eagles also face the prospect of losing their captain Marc Guehi before the window closes.
Arne Slot and Liverpool are keen to sign the English international and, worryingly for supporters, chairman Steve Parish has admitted he may be left with little choice but to sell if he receives the right offer.
Oliver Glasner was however adamant his club must keep hold of Guehi after they recorded their first ever European win at Selhurst Park last Thursday.
'We are very, very late to find replacements,' the Austrian admitted.
'I think we could have behaved much better than we did. It's not the best way to start the season. I think we are below the edge.
'If Marc [Guehi] leaves maybe I will try my boots because I was a centre back. We have to act. It's Crystal Palace's future and we need to add numbers.'
Palace have only brought in Borna Sosa from Ajax and goalkeeper Walter Benitez on a free transfer so far this summer.

Be careful, no one can replace Eze at Crystal Palace, he is their biggest legend and should have a monument there.
