Crystal Palace retain an interest in West Brom’s Nathan Ferguson after the defender underwent surgery this week.

The full-back’s proposed £11million move from Albion to Palace on January deadline day was called off after medical examinations revealed a torn meniscus.

Ferguson had an operation to repair the knee this week and will be further assessed at the end of the month. He could yet play a role in the Championship run-in for Slavin Bilic’s side should his rehabilitation go well.

However, the 19-year old is out of contract in the summer and has indicated he is unlikely to agree new terms to remain at the Hawthorns.

While he would become a free agent, West Brom would still be entitled to compensation.

Palace are among a number of clubs monitoring Ferguson’s recovery and may yet make a revised offer to West Brom between now and the summer.

They won’t pay the fee agreed in January and will look to offer around £4m. That level of bid could yet prompt West Brom to push for a tribunal to determine the England U20 international’s valuation.

Fulham want over £10m compensation for 16-year old Harvey Elliott who left them for Liverpool Last year while the Anfield club were previously ordered to pay £8m for Danny Ings in 2016 plus a 20percent sell on when he joined them after falling out of contract with Burnley.
