Recently, renowned The Athletic journalist David Ornstein spoke to Sky Sports about Manchester United’s potential moves in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Ornstein said: “Manchester United’s summer transfer window may not be as ‘wild’ as some expect, but the club still faces numerous pressing issues that need addressing.
“The central midfield area is a top priority, especially following Casemiro’s confirmed departure—which has led United to be consistently linked with players like Elliott Anderson, Adam Wharton, and Carlos Baleba.
“After missing out on Antoine Semenyo, the left-sided attacking position has also become a key focus, with both Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho set to leave this summer.
“In defense, Harry Maguire’s future remains uncertain. This is the final year of his contract, and with no news of an extension, he is expected to depart at the end of the season as planned. The center-back position remains a critical area for reinforcement.
“The appointment of a new head coach—potentially Michael Carrick or another candidate—will be one of the biggest stories of 2026. Early signs under Carrick have sparked hope among fans and within the club. Although it’s still very much in its infancy, as always, actions will speak louder than words.”

This is my own suggestions. I will like the board to stick with Carrick due to many factors that I am going to mention below. If I am right, the minority owner stated that he will give previous coach Amorin 3 years to bring the team back to the top. why can't we give Carrick that privilege to do the same under the advantages in his possession. Don't get me wrong, Carrick will drop some points ,no doubts about that but the pattern of play with Manchester united DNA in play will be of a great advantage for us. Now,coming to those coaches out there. is there anyone good enough to do the job? the fact that they are doing good presently at their various job does not mean that they will do better in Manchester. Please, let us give our young coach the opportunity to lead the team. Take a look at Kompany at Beyer, he was not the best at Burney before he was appointed. But we can see the result clearly. Those coaches we are looking at, are all burn out of the zeal to do the job. Please, give Carrick the opportunity with right buying of a good players and give him 3 years to bring us back to the top. Remember we have tried all those best coaches before . what was the result? Let us build together with our own DNA coach , with a maximum support from the board and the fans all over the world. Up Manchester United!!!
I can assure you that your opinion will change if you start losing towards the end of the season, all these "give him chances " will not matter anymore

MU need a world class defensive midfielder and possibly add one more top quality central defender if Harry M. leaves. Another striker is also needed if qualifies for Europe (CL).

United shouldn't hire another manager no matter what, Those coaches you see out there are only good there but not in premier League, don't bring another season of struggling again at the club just leave Carrick to stay.
