It’s more than 20 years since David Beckham left Manchester United, his boyhood club and the team with which he found the greatest success.
A lot has changed for both parties since then. For United, a lot of that change has not been for the better. A torrid 2024/25 campaign culminated with a bleak postseason tour of Asia, which saw players involved in controversial incidents.
“I don’t like seeing what’s happening at the club,” Beckham said on CBS Sports. “It’s true that it’s the pitch that matters, but I see a lot of things that are not acceptable to me as a fan and a lover of Manchester United. You have to represent the badge. I’ve seen a lot of things where players didn’t act in the right way.”
It’s thought that Beckham was alluding to two examples of alleged player misbehavior. Winger Amad Diallo was seen holding up a middle finger to crowds outside the team hotel, later claiming that they were insulting his mother.
Teammate Alejandro Garnacho also found himself in hot water after giving the middle finger to fans after a game in Hong Kong.
Those reactions were likely born of understandable frustration after a stressful season for all involved. Both are also young players who have shouldered a lot of pressure during their careers at Old Trafford.
But Beckham insisted that those sort of outbursts would not have happened during his time at the club, when there was a stronger culture of respect for supporters.
“We understood what it meant to play for Manchester United. We understood what the badge meant,” the Englishman added.
“Everywhere we travelled, whether in Europe or Asia, we respected the fans. We respected the fact that they came and paid money to see us, to get an autograph or to take pictures. You have to respect that.”
Manchester United’s 2024/25 season has now officially come to a close. But the real work starts now if the club hierarchy is to prepare a team that can avoid another embarrassing season next year.

The players should be disrespectful to disrespectful management and Coach. They are also human.

From my own opinion everybody deserves respect these fans don't know how it hurts these players with the way the season has played out so they should not come cast any blame or insult on these players or their parents they are human as well. We need to respect these players. if we claim to be a good fan, it is not always when they win but also when they lose. Look at Arsenal now in terms of performance in the league they are better than united, but in terms of trophies and general performance, United are better than them. but the fans aren't disrespecting the players. You can't insult someone's mum or parents a d expect the person to be silent or smile back at u

players need to understand that it's fans that pay them and if fans starts to boycott games and eventually lost interest in football they won't get pay. respect fans.
football like other sports players are pay by fans. the tickets are bought by fans, sponsor come in because they want to publish their businesses for fans in attendance to see their products and buy. I don't know what you referred to as lie.

without players no fans ,without fans no player.. disrespecting someone's family just because he played a bad game, let's say you have a bad day at work and your manager or boss comes or anyone in the department comes and disrespect you? would that be appropriate.. we have bad days with our partners, arguing or fighting over things but that doesn't mean that we abuse each other.... and especially man united fan should understand that they have to accept that they are bad collectively as a team otherwise players that go out of man united play good games, Garnacho and other young lads are too young, same players need time to play better football, everyone is not messi, ronaldo, mbappe, yamal from young age.. some players do need upto 24 years of age to mature as a footballer.

where are you coming from?
It was done to beck by Alex But none of this players can do that The arrogance and egos are to much Imagine just because a coach didn’t start you for a match Of which you later played You have to come out and say shit because they didn’t win or what if he was that good why didn’t he create a miracle with just a goal within the 30 minutes he played Mount has been better in the semi final scoring 3 goals and have you gave him a genuine reason to start you for the final
