Spain will play in Las Palmas for the first time since 2007 when they host Bosnia in a friendly on November 18 and David Silva will be in attendance as a special guest.
The midfielder retired from the national team in the summer, but will be at the Estadio de Gran Canaria to take an honorary kick-off.
"November 18 will be a special day for all," Spanish FA president Luis Rubiales said on Tuesday at the launch event for this match.
"Remember that many players from this island have represented the national team."
Silva is one of them, having been born in Arguineguin on the south coast of Gran Canaria.

Obviously I love Silva and I’m so glad he spent most of his career at City BUT part of me wishes he played in Spain at Barca or any other team I think he would’ve gotten the recognition he always deserved. But now he is finally getting it.👏👏👏Legend!

Silva is one of the best midfielders in the world! I was really sad when he said he retired! On that day we will always remember his magic in the field!
