David Villa was caught trying to wind up his former boss Pep Guardiola as Manchester City trained at New York City's facilities on Monday afternoon.
The Spanish striker, who plays his football in MLS with New York City, was pictured laughing and tapping Guardiola on the arm as the latter took charge of his side's training session.
The pair know each other extremely well, having worked together during their time at Barcelona - with Guardiola signing Villa from Valencia in 2010.
Villa was training on the adjacent pitch with his New York City team-mates as Guardiola geared his players up for Thursday's Intrernational Champions Cup clash against Liverpool.
The City boss was still without several of his stars - including Kevin de Bryune and Raheem Sterling - who are still absent due to their involvement in this summer's World Cup.
But new signing Riyad Mahrez, Leroy Sane and Bernardo Silva were all on show as Guardiola put his City squad through their paces in Orangeburg.
The session appeared to be one of high intensity with an added focus on match-play scenarios as Guardiola aims to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat against Borussia Dortmund on the weekend.
Joe Hart, whose future looks increasingly likely to lie elsewhere, also took part in the session and was pictured pulling off a fantastic diving save.
New York City and Villa, meanwhile, were preparing for their MLS clash with Orlando City on Friday.
