Gabriel Jesus' late winner against Tottenham in the Premier League was chalked off for handball, but his team-mate thinks the ruling makes no sense
Kevin de Bruyne has blasted the new handball rules brought in this summer after Manchester City were yet again denied a last-minute winner against Tottenham by VAR on Saturday.
“They made this rule, it’s new,” De Bruyne told the Telegraph. “When I saw the video [of the incident], it’s impossible [for Laporte] to take his arm away. What can he do? Should he chop his arm off and play without it?
“There’s nothing he can do because Nico [Otamendi] is ten centimeters in front of him and trying to head the ball. You can’t react in that space and amount of time. So make it clear - handball both sides.”
“It is never easy when you score a last-minute goal and it is disallowed, especially because last season we went out of the Champions League because of a situation exactly like this one but rules are rules and we have to accept it,” Silva said.
“It is true the ball hits his hand but come on, do you want to cut his arm [off]?”

VAR came for everyone but those who will make judgment are human being and not a Computer/ or any kind of technology.... some time this people BET games. there's a reason why EPL referees don't qualify as best referees in the world. Fifa would rather bring in a referee from Africa/ Asia and North America and refereeing the game instead of those from EPL. I knew it since they bring in VAR fans and players will complain a lot .that is my point. let watch games and enjoy what we brought in VAR................I don't care if will happen to my team but good to see the truth

Before VAR, smaller clubs were always being bullied by wrong decision. Fans from these small clubs always leave with heart humiliated. Some shunned especially away games. It's time for a change, if paying fans can accept it who are you to complain. Perhaps you can start by chopping off your arms.

Don’t take Liverpool fans comments serious. They are the most hypocrites fans when it comes to football. They are defending the ref decisions against Man City because they can temporarily go on top of the league table and also Man City punished them last season they couldn’t win the EPL. When ever something ever there is wrong decisions goes against Man City they are soo excited, but when something good about Man City they feel pains. That’s not sportsmanship. We aren’t surprised, we know for sure the English FA and the match officials has agenda against MAN city, they don’t want to see one team dominate the EPL consecutive for 3 season, they will do all they can, to stop Man City from retaining the trophy for 3 seasons. They only way they can stop Man City is to hide behind VAR with some fluke decisions to stop Man City. But we live to see. That’s why modern day football is shambolic, no truth, to many bias and hypocrisy. Awarding awards to players who don’t even deserve awards and those who deserve awards aren’t recognised.
