Manchester United fans have heaped praise on David de Gea after the goalkeeper shared an infamous meme of the club's former manager Jose Mourinho following their 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace.
The Red Devils appeared on course for a comfortable win after goals from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.
Their advantage was threatened when Casemiro was shown a straight red card following a melee on the pitch, with Jeffrey Schlupp then pulling a goal back to set up a nervy finale at Old Trafford.
Casemiro had been sent off after the Brazilian midfielder was seen with hands around the throat of Will Hughes, with United boss Erik ten Hag admitting after the match that the star had 'crossed the line'.
Ten Hag also claimed Crystal Palace's Jordan Ayew should have received the same punishment for his involvement, with the Dutchman calling for 'consistency' from the officials.
De Gea appeared to echo his manager's thoughts on social media, posting a clip of the club's former boss Mourinho.
The clip came from an interview given by Mourinho back in 2014, after the then-Chelsea manager was sent off following his side's 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa.
Mourinho had been asked post match about red cards given to Willian and Ramires in the defeat, with the Portuguese manager famously declining to comment to avoid being sanctioned.
'If I speak, I am in big trouble, and I don't want to be in big trouble,' Mourinho said.
Manchester United fans praised the Spanish international for the post, which was interpreted as his view of the decision reached by the officials to only send off Casemiro.
Several fans labelled De Gea as a 'legend' for the post.
Speaking to MUTV post match, De Gea praised his team-mates for their response to Casemiro's dismisal.
'It was tough, especially after the red card,' De Gea said.
''We fought until the end, I think the team did really well and defended really well.
'We conceded one goal, but we won a massive three points today.
'It is not easy when you lose a big player like Casemiro, we showed massive spirit and character today.'
The result saw Manchester United move above Newcastle into third in the Premier League.

Few things that I've noticed here that caused the Red Card 1.Casemiro revealed his real name that he's Casimiro en no Casemiro.Maybe we should look at the meaning of those two words, bcz it looks like the original name Casimiro has bad luck as compared to the Casemiro name that's my view. I don't know both of their meanings. 2.The second thing is the Brazilians are the last ppl to mess up with they're like colored ppl as I know the colored ppl are always ready to fight so Casemiro was trying to calm things down but being colored himself he ended up being the best Wwe man Undertaker now on Hughes' neck. I saw Hughes couldn't move when he was handled by Casemiro bcz the man is strong and if he wasn't a footballer he was going to be a best Wrestler or Rugby man trust me. We as United family are apologizing to the Hughes family and Palace team for the inconvenience we didn't mean to beat them both physically and with the points
