Defeating Liverpool at Anfield, Haaland and Foden invites Lijnders to celebrate

Erling Haaland and Phil Foden together persuaded former Liverpool assistant coach Pep Lijnders to join the celebration in Manchester City's away fans' section.

This Dutch coach was once Klopp's assistant and accompanied Liverpool through one of the most successful periods in the club's modern history.

Therefore, when Manchester City completed a stunning comeback at Anfield to win 2-1, Lijnders' situation was somewhat awkward.

After the final whistle, Lijnders looked a bit shy when he walked towards the Manchester City fans to clap and greet them.

Haaland, who scored the winning penalty in stoppage time, stepped forward with Foden and forced him to the front of the fans, letting him fully experience this moment.

A Manchester City fan commented: "Haaland and Foden just wanted to get Pep Lijnders to taunt the Liverpool fans."

The comment section of this video was also filled with emotional Liverpool fans.

Someone left a message: "Arsenal will still easily win the league, so all this is in vain. Any news on those 115 charges?"

Another commented: "Calm down, Haaland? Yeah, only humble when it benefits you."

Someone else replied: "Looks like you're not used to seeing a full stadium."

Lijnders' transfer from Liverpool to Manchester City—their main title rival over the past eight years—was already surprising.

But before leaving Merseyside, he clearly expressed his love for the Reds (Liverpool).

He said: "I am grateful and honored. This is the club I deeply love. Together we created countless special matches that made people proud of this city."

Lijnders also confirmed that after receiving Guardiola's invitation, he had received Klopp's blessing before making this transfer decision.

This victory allowed Manchester City to narrow the title gap with Arsenal to 6 points, greatly boosting the team's morale.

Their celebration in the dressing room was deafening, almost drowning out the sound of Liverpool manager Arne Slot's post-match press conference.

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane thought Manchester City went a bit too far, telling Sky Sports: "They have the right to enjoy the victory, but they should also show a little respect.

"Turn down that damn music when someone is doing a post-match interview. This is ridiculous."
