Another day has brought another humiliation for Everton in the aftermath of their shambolic FA Cup defeat by fierce rivals Liverpool on Sunday.

It appears that midfielder Fabian Delph, a £10m summer signing from Premier League champions Manchester City, got involved in a fiery post-match exchange with an angry Everton fan on Instagram following their 1-0 loss to a heavily rotated Liverpool.

The supporter, furious at the feeble nature of Everton's display, was sent a message from Delph's account labelling him 'a disgrace'. The fan was then taunted by being told they would 'ask for a picture' rather than criticise the team if they saw them in person.

Responding to a message saying 'f****** embarrassing you', Delph said: 'If you was in front of me you wouldn't say a word. Not a word. You'd ask for a picture.

The Everton fan replied by saying: 'F****** hell, you've been here half a season and you've played abar (sic) 5 minutes. Who the f*** are you?'

Delph said: 'Your (sic) a disgrace and your (sic) the gobshite hiding behing your (sic) phone sending abuse. You think we wanna lose a game and you think we enjoyed losing a derby against them?'

When the Toffees fan said that no Everton player gave 100 per cent in the second half against Liverpool and that they felt it was 'embarrassing standing there watching it, seeing some 16 years (sic) old take the p***', Delph insisted it was not the case.

'Your (sic) having a laugh lad, never give anything less than 100%. Listen all the best for your future,' and the conversation ends.

There also appears to be a second fan who got a response from Delph's account after venting at the midfielder on Instagram.

The response to an angry message about Everton's lack of commitment read: 'You woulda (sic) done better?'

The fan said: 'I'd pay to play for Everton... no one gets respect at Everton you earn it and its (sic) been f****** embarrassing this season.'

The following message from Delph's account reads: 'Delusional little boy'.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton will have talks with Delph, an England international, over his conduct.

Delph's conduct comes after it emerged a group of angry Everton fans headed to the club's Finch Farm training base to underline their fury at the result.

They were met by director of football Marcel Brands, who addressed their concerns over a lack of commitment from the players.

Footage also emerged on Monday of captain Seamus Coleman and team-mate Mason Holgate engaging in a fiery exchange with Liverpool fans as they left the pitch shortly after the final whistle was blown at Anfield.

It is understood Everton will not discuss the incident with either player as the club believe it was down to raised emotions at the end of a derby defeat.

Everton have not won at Anfield in the 21st century - their last victory came in 1999 and Liverpool's selection of younger players ignited hope among Everton's fanbase that they could end that miserable run.

To compound matters, the cup defeat means another chance to win their first trophy since 1995 has evaded Everton.
