Dembele is Bayern's plan B if they can't sign Sane from Man City (Sport Bild)

According to Sport Bild, Ousmane Dembele is Bayern's plan B should the Leroy Sane transfer fail.

Karl-Heinz-Rummenigge is a big admirer of him. Hasan Salihamidzic is said to have met one of his agents Marco Lichtsteiner in March and hold talks, but main agent Moussa Sissoko was not there.

Barcelona currently have Dembele in their plans, but Bayern are closely monitoring the situation. If Barca sign both Griezmann & Neymar then there could be a chance to get Dembele. Bayern will observe this development & possibly try to sign him for an astronomical fee.

Should Dembele come, the whole package will certainly be as expensive as it would be the case with Sane. In order for this sum to be paid, Bayern decided not to make further moves for De Ligt and Rodri, which would probably have swallowed up costs in the mid 3-digit million range.

Dembele joined Barca from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 for around £93m up front and a possible further £36m in add-ons.
