Arsenal could miss out on signing Barcelona's Denis Suarez after failing to agree a fee with the club.
The Gunners are prepared to sign the forward on loan this month with a view to a permanent move in the summer.
But they are only willing to pay £15million at the end of the season while Barcelona are demanding more.
Talks are continuing but hopes are fading that Arsenal can complete a move before next Thursday's deadline.
Suarez has been left out of Barcelona's squad for the first leg of their Copa del Rey quarter-final against Sevilla on Wednesday.
His place has been taken by Kevin Prince-Boateng after his loan move from Sassuolo.
Boateng - who sees himself as a forward these days - believes he can help aid Barcelona's treble bid.

As far as I am concerned this guy is one of the players we needed to sign even in summer so Arsenal should take their time to get a better deal from Barca that’s what they always do us and no buy back clause like Fabregas deal. I will only complain when summer transfer window open so winter window it’s difficult to sort deals. Fellow gunners calm down we will get him.

I fear for Arsenal. Is a club in decline in last 10 years. Since Kronke took over. The club has become the most expensive club to follow in the world. Best players all left for little or nothing. The manager who build this team was booted out when we now know he wasnt the problem. The poor old man has been managing the club on scraps! The biggest mistake of all these blunders must be Luis Suarez £40m+£1 pis stake! Very insulting! New manager came in. Club have the man literally nothing to spend. Sold Ox, Walcott and a few other players to raise the £60m for the new signings. Aaron Ramsey is leaving. Cant buy a player! Emery should just leave!

One of the wealthiest club in the world and they still don't have the money. They are releasing Ramsey and don't have replacement and still not ready to spend. How shit a club can become.
