US referee Mark Geiger has been strongly criticised by Diego Maradona, with the Argentine legend claiming that Colombia suffered refereeing injustice in their last 16 loss to England.
England were awarded a penalty kick during the 90 minutes, which Harry Kane converted, before they won in a shootout after the 1-1 draw.
"Today I saw a monumental robbery on the pitch," Maradona told Telesur radio station afterwards.
"I am clear about that.
"This referee will know a lot about baseball, but he has no idea about football.
"There was a foul from Kane at the penalty.
"Why didn't they ask to check VAR?"
Maradona wasn't the only one to criticise the officiating, with Radamel Falcao speaking out as well after Tuesday's match.

See who is speaking here, u Maradona of all pple. Infact u lack the moral ryt to criticise a referee not to the extent of using robbery. U were on the pitch the very day that the referee awarded 3points to Argentina over the super eagles yet u never kalked about it. So if the robbery that happened ryt in ur face u did not say anything, how come the one u watch on TV u are complaining. May God forgive u for ur criticism, but no matter ur robbery on the African teams, we will bounce back again.

HOW ABOUT THE GAME OF PORTUGAL AND URUGUAY NOBODY IS COMMENTING WHEN THE PLAYER OF URUGUAY PUSH THE BALL WITH IS ARM WHEN HE WAS ON THE FLOOR OF THE PENALTY AREA. THE CONSTANT FOWLS ON RAPHAEL NOT GIVEN AND RONALDO!!!!!!
You have to read the rule book to understand because not everything in the box is a penalty. For example, if the player put his hand to stop the ball that’s a penalty. However, if the ball hit the player,s hand without the player intention it’s not a penalty. This is common sense your hand is part of your body what do you do inside the box put your hands inside your pocket. In the case you are referring, the player was on the floor and have no intention of touching the ball. This was accidental not a penalty

Yes! the whole word saw what went wrong yesterday in the match between England and Colombia that it was absolutely a fraud against Colombia, yes we knew that. But the question is that what about the match between Argentina and Nigeria? why didn't Maradona comment about the clear penalty that would have sent Argentina home in the first round that was shunned by the referee in spite of the VAR?

Maradona is the greatest cheat, he even borrow God's name to hide his greatest cheat. Now he has the chic to utter profanities, vulgarities and nonsense. He should be locked in the monastery to to cleansing.

Blinkered vision. The behaviour of the Colombians was disgusting, especially when the penalty was given in the way they berated the ref and did everything to disrupt the game. Don't know how they finished with 11 players. Maradona should keep his mouth shut but I don't suppose he wants to upset a country that supplies him with his 'recreational' fun.....
