Diogo Dalot notched only his second-ever goal for Manchester United in Thursday's routine 3-0 Europa League victory over FC Sheriff.
It was his first goal since scoring in a thumping FA Cup win at Tranmere back in January 2020. The right-back, who has been an ever-present this term having started every league and European game, nodded in a corner from Christian Eriksen before Marcus Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo added gloss to the proceedings.
Dalot celebrated his goal by mimicking a pulse check and the celebration was explained by the defender last year in a matchday programme.
"Ah yes ‘check the pulse’!" he said. "It’s a funny thing. I had a couple of friends in the national team and we were playing Uno and, when we are putting down the +4 cards, everybody was like this (points to neck) because we didn’t have any more +4 cards. It’s an original thing, it’s not something I’ve seen before and it’s a good one! I will definitely do it for my next goal!"
Dalot was true to his word although he will hope he doesn't have another two-and-a-half year wait for his next United strike.

yeah I wouldn't want us to lose one of our best youngsters.

But the thing is that it’s only one year extension, but let’s hope he can get a 5 year one

I'm sure that ever since he transferred to United from Porto when I think Mourinho signed him, he's been dedicated to this club for years, so I'm sure he'll ignore the other offers and sign a new contract

Dalot played well and he's on form he only needs to improve on scoring many goals like Cancelo and need to cross nice square balls for our strikers just like what Luke Shaw did to Rashford's goal just few minutes after coming in for Malacia [ko]
he already has a decent ability to cross the ball, his ability to cross the ball is decent enough but I do agree on the fact that he needs to improve on his goal scoring. he just needs the right chances to score and he'll start scoring normally.
