Dortmund 5-2 Frankfurt: BVB thrash visitors, Reus, T. Hazard & Haaland on target

Erling Haaland put on a show for Borussia Dortmund fans as they returned to Signal Iduna Park, scoring two goals and providing three assists in a five-goal rout as they beat Eintracht Frankfurt 5-2 on Saturday.

The most impressive was the first, picking the ball up in his own half and beating two men before putting it on a plate for Marco Reus to open the scoring.

Borussia Dortmund had to work for the win, though, as full-back Felix Passlack inadvertently sent the ball into his own goal.

Haaland's second assist wasn't bad either, though, as he led a counter attack and fed in Thorgan Hazard who slotted into the back of the net.

That same intensity helped him to get onto the scoresheet, challenging on the halfway line and racing off with a composed finish to boost Dortmund's lead.

The Norwegian then sealed a hat-trick of assists as he played in Giovani Reyna from an incredibly tight angle when all watching expected him to go for goal himself.

Haaland's second goal came from Eintracht Frankfurt's high line, with Reus this time playing the Norwegian in as he timed his run perfectly to beat Kevin Trapp for a second time in the afternoon.

Jens Petter Hauge scored a second for the visitors in the dying moments with little but a consolation goal, though it did mean that Dortmund missed out on taking top spot, owing to Stuttgart and Hoffenheim's four-goal wins over Furth and Augsburg.
