Borussia Dortmund insist they are relaxed over Mario Götze making a shock switch to Arsenal.
BVB sporting director Michael Zorc says that the player has not made any overtures to leave, and that a new contract is currently on the club's agenda.
“We have heard rumours from England for years," Zorc told Sport Bild. "As always, we are relaxed.
"Mario Götze has not approached us with a request to move. We are enjoying good exchange with Mario's father and his advisor.
"At the beginning of the new season, we will sit down together."
CEO Hans Joachim Watzke remarked last week that can't see why the 26-year-old would leave the North Rhine this summer.
"I see no reason why he should go," Watzke told DAZN , before declaring that he remains "a top player" for the club.
After a number of difficult years suffering from a metabolic disorder, Götze played 34 times for BVB in 2018-19, scoring seven times for the Bundesliga runners-up.
However, he isn't necessarily a first choice for coach Lucien Favre - something which will be further muddied by the arrival of Bayer Leverkusen's Julian Brandt and Gladbach's Thorgan Hazard - and remains one of the club's top earners.

Yeah they need to strengthen the defense on at least two positions and with losing out on CL football they only have 40m to spend. No way they can afford Götze, just when they can sell some players but I dont see anyone going out for a bigger fee.

If he wants to leave, I'm absolutely okay with it. If he wants a raise, I'm absolutely okay with saying no. If the club wants to offer him a paycut extension, I think that's fair. If he thinks 6 good months out of 36 warrants a pay raise, he needs a reality check.
