Dusan Vlahovic has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer despite the Blues signing Nicolas Jackson, who has hit the ground running
Dusan Vlahovic has re-emerged has a potential target for Chelsea, with Mauricio Pochettino keen to add one more striker to his armoury this summer. The 23-year-old striker has been linked with an exit from Juventus recently but, with just over a week until the transfer window slams shut, a deal could be difficult to complete.
Vlahovic, who sees his contract at the Allianz Stadium expire in 2026, featured 27 times for the Old Lady in Serie A last season, finding the net just 10 times. This term, the Serbia international looks revitalised, scoring on the opening weekend of the new campaign.
So, with that being said, football.london has taken a look at the latest headlines surrounding the Serbian.
Transfer clue
Chelsea have been dealt a major blow to their hopes of signing Dusan Vlahovic. The 23-year-old striker has been briefly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer as Mauricio Pochettino hopes to further bolster his frontline despite having already signed Nicolas Jackson.
After scoring for Juventus on the opening weekend of the new Serie A campaign, he penned a classy message on Instagram. He wrote: "Per VOI (which translates to 'for you' in English). All out, all game, all season."
Lukaku 'agreement'
When asked whether he could reintegrate Romelu Lukaku back into the Chelsea squad, Mauricio Pochettino replied: "It is not only one side - it is two sides needed to find the best solution. You cannot put it only on the club, it is about both sides.
"The situation is where it is because of both sides. Both sides have arrived at an agreement. We were informed before we signed about the situation of every single player," added Pochettino. "After we signed, we had the squad that we had. It is so clear that nothing has changed, and if there is something to inform then we will inform.
"There is nothing for us to do - I need to be focused on my team to try to perform. We cannot spend energy on a situation that was clear before we arrived at Chelsea."
Price problem
According to reports in Italy, the swap deal appears to be off due to a different in valuation. Calciomercato have claimed the deal is on 'stand-by' because Chelsea's offer is €10million (£8.5million) short of Juventus' demand.
The Italian side have demanded €30million (£25.6million) plus Lukaku in exchange for Vlahovic and the Blues have only offered €20million (£17.1million).
Allegri demand
Massimiliano Allegri has conceded that Juventus would consider 'impossible to refuse bids' for Dusan Vlahovic. He said: "I'm happy with the players we have but impossible to refuse bids will be evaluated due to the financial situation. I will adapt to the club's choice, as always."
£50m demand
According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Juve are now demanding £50million in cash as part of the package that would see Vlahovic move to Stamford Bridge after just 18 months in Turin - with Lukaku heading to Italy.
Juve are currently looking to raise a significant amount of cash after being slapped with a £17.1million fine for breaching Financial Fair Play rules. The Italian giants have also been dumped out of next season's UEFA Conference League meaning there will be no European football on offer in Turin next season.
Swap deal talks
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have reignited their interest in Vlahovic and are now back in talks with Juventus via intermediaries. The report states that a potential swap deal with Romelu Lukaku has been discussed again despite having overlooked the idea earlier this summer.
Wage demand issue
Chelsea internally discussed the merits of Vlahovic - but his salary was seen as too high and prohibitive, according to Mail Sport. This could be why no progress has been made by the Blues when it comes to striking a deal with Juventus for the Serbian striker.
Vlahovic is said to be currently earning around £214,000-per-week at the Italian outfit, as per Capology. The 23-year-old's current deal is not set to expire until 2026.
Spurs set to 'overtake' Chelsea
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to 'overtake' both Chelsea and PSG in their pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic, if Harry Kane does leave Spurs this summer.
That's according to Foot Mercato, who claim that Spurs have identified the former Fiorentina striker as their top target, should the England captain seal a move to Bayern Munich.
PSG contact
Paris Saint-Germain have made their first major move in the transfer race with Chelsea for Dusan Vlahovic.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, PSG are well informed on what it will take to sign the Juventus star after holding 'direct contact' over a summer transfer earlier this week
Player preference
Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain appear locked in a transfer battle for the signature of Dusan Vlahovic, but one interested club look to have a clear advantage.
According to Alfredo Pedulla, Serbian is keen on a move to PSG with the report also stating he is waiting for the Parisians first formal offer with the possibility of a loan and an option to buy already being ruled out by Juventus.
No formal negotiations
Contrary to some reports, Chelsea are yet to begin formal negotiations with Juventus for Dusan Vlahovic, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
Speaking to the Mark Goldbridge That's Football YouTube channel, he said: "Chelsea have always appreciated Dusan Vlahovic but at the moment there is no negotiation at all between Vlahovic and Chelsea.
"I'm sure that before signing a new striker, if they sign a new striker because it is not guaranteed at all, but in case they do I think it will take some time."
Contact made
Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic is sure to be on Mauricio Pochettino's striker transfer short list with Chelsea taking a minor step towards potentially signing the Serb.
As per the Evening Standard, contact has already been made by the Blues for Vlahovic and Montpellier striker Elye Wahi.
Chelsea set price limit
Dusan Vlahovic is one of the striker options on Chelsea's summer transfer wish list although the Juventus star could cost a hefty fee.
Likely aware of that fact, the Blues have made it clear they are not prepared to exceed a fee of €60million (£51.5million) for his acquisition, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
Bayern preference
According to Calciomercato, Vlahovic's agent, Darko Ristic, is hoping Bayern Munich to make a move for his client this summer. The report states that the Serbian is also being ushered towards either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid despite interest from the Premier League.
Vlahovic replacement
Juventus are ready to reach an agreement with Atalanta for the signing of Rasmus Hojlund if the Serbian is offloaded, according to Corriere dello Sport. The report states that the 20-year-old striker will be considered once the Old Lady see their valuation for Vlahovic met.
Chelsea bid
A report from Italian news outlet Corriere della Sera has stated that Chelsea have made their first attempt to sign Vlahovic as Pochettino continues to look for a new forward after the arrival of Jackson from Villarreal this summer. The report adds that Juve have rejected an offer of €60million (£51.5million) from the Stamford Bridge side for the ex-Fiorentina man.
Vlahovic stance
According to Calciomercato, Vlahovic is eager for a new experience and his agent Darko Ristic has held talks with United, Arsenal and Chelsea over a potential move to England. Juventus are in a strong position to demand a huge transfer fee to let the 23-year-old leave the club.
The Italian outfit could be open to selling their star striker, but want a whopping £77million fee to part ways with Vlahovic.
'Serious interest'
According to Italian football agent Massimo Brambati, Juventus are expected to consider offers before making a final decision on the striker's future. In an interview on TMW Radio, Brambati said: "There are three teams that showed up.
"In my opinion, Juve will take these offers seriously. All of them have an important profile, because they’re Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.
"I don’t know if the capital gain will be made [on Juventus' initial £66.6million investment], but after a year and a half of Vlahovic they’ve already amortised a year’s gross salary and a good part of the amount invested too."
Unhappy at Juventus
Juventus could be facing significant sporting sanctions with the club under investigation for alleged financial malpractice which could see their top stars leave the club. However, that is not the only reason Vlahovic could be set for a January exit with Ben Jacobs revealing the 23-year is not happy at the club.
He told GiveMeSport: "So, more important than the actual sporting sanctions is actually just the fact that it’s not thought that Vlahovic is particularly happy under Max Allegri. And because of that, I think that he is open to a move and Juventus are, at the same time, quite prepared to entertain offers and see what happens."
United enter race
Manchester United have joined the race to sign Vlahovic, with Erik ten Hag keen to replace Cristiano Ronaldo in January. Corriere dello Sport have claimed that the Red Devils have joined Chelsea, PSG and Bayern Munich in being Arsenal's competitors.
United have also set to go toe-to-toe with the Gunners for PSV forward Cody Gakpo, meaning Edu faces a tough ask of getting his man.
Gunners' stance
The Gunners were reported to have been interested in the Serbian striker last January before his move to Turin which has proved to be a success so far.
However, this appears to be a non-starter given the frustrations which arose during their efforts to sign the target man during the last January window, according to Express Sport. Arsenal are reported to have been overlooked by the striker's representatives in talks as a £62million move to Juventus was sought and this will leave a move to north London, at least in the short-term, highly unlikely.
Mikel Arteta will push for transfers, however, as he revealed after their recent friendly win against AC Milan, saying: "We are looking and we are very active looking at the possibilities. If we can find the players that can strengthen the team we will try."
Arsenal 'contact'
Arsenal have reportedly made contact with Dusan Vlahovic's representatives over a possible January transfer. Reports in Italy have claimed that the Gunners have contacted the striker's representatives to discuss a possible deal in January. Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport claim Arteta's side are one of many clubs to ponder the striker's future amid uncertainty over whether he'll stay with Juventus.

£25m plus Lukaku is too small for Chelsea to pay. Why are they dragging this deal? Chelsea is seriously sick. This was exactly what they did in Caicedo and Lavia case before Liverpool came and the price went up. Why can't they finalize the deal now since Lukaku is not needed anymore. Maybe they want to pay higher on deadline day.
