EL: Lazio top seeds in draw

Atalanta were eliminated, but Lazio are top seeds with Sevilla, Arsenal and Chelsea for the Europa League draw tomorrow with Milan in Pot 2.

There will only be two Serie A representatives in the tournament this season, as Atalanta lost on penalties to FC Copenhagen after wasting numerous chances and hitting the woodwork.

Other results in the play-offs mean that Lazio are top seeds in the draw for the group stage, which is in Monte Carlo on Friday at 12.00 UK time.

Their position was boosted by the elimination in the preliminary stage of Steaua Bucharest and FC Basel.

As Milan have barely featured on the continent in recent years, they are in Pot 2 with a weakened co-efficient ranking.

It means they could be placed in the same group as Andre Silva’s Sevilla, Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea, Arsenal, Zenit St Petersburg, Bayer Leverkusen or Dynamo Kiev.
