We're now four matches into the new Premier League season and fans of each club are starting to gain a clearer indication of their team's prospects for the months ahead.
Summer signings have come in for particularly close scrutiny, with some making an immediate impression in new surroundings and others still waiting to make an impact.
We take a look at five new signings to catch the eye in the Premier League and five others who may require a little more time to settle.
FIVE NEW PLAYERS WHO HAVE IMPRESSED
Jorginho (Chelsea)
The Italian midfielder has adapted seamlessly to Premier League life after reuniting with Maurizio Sarri in a £57million transfer last month.
Perhaps his experience of Sarri-ball from his previous club Napoli has helped, but Jorginho, with his superb passing range, already looks a class above.
He was particularly effective in Chelsea's win over Arsenal, with his long diagonal balls causing the Gunners' defence all manner of problems, and he has been a key factor in their 100 per cent start.
Matteo Guendouzi (Arsenal)
Many Arsenal fans would have replied 'who?' when Guendouzi arrived from French second division team Lorient but everyone certainly knows all about him now.
It is a bold move to throw a 19-year-old into the blood and thunder of the Premier League, especially as a new manager, but Unai Emery clearly has immense faith in the floppy-haired Frenchman, starting him in all four games so far.
Arsenal have often been accused of lacking bite in their midfield, but Guendouzi's energy and intelligence has already made him something of a cult hero.
Jean Michael Seri (Fulham)
Seri had been linked with moves to Barcelona, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United but chose Premier League newcomers Fulham because they showed him more love than the bigger names.
And the £18m signing from Nice has certainly made an eye-catching start to life in England, as shown by his goal against Burnley and sumptuous assist for Andre Schurrle at Brighton.
There's no question the Ivorian will continue to prove a match-winner all season as Fulham fight to ensure their top-flight return isn't a disappointingly brief one.
James Maddison (Leicester)
Having ripped up the Championship with Norwich City last season, there was a certain inevitability that England under-21 international would come to the Premier League sooner rather than later.
And Maddison has certainly shone during Leicester's opening few games following a £24m move, running their midfield and contributing one goal and one assist so far.
Sportsmail columnist Jamie Redknapp was impressed by his display against Liverpool, telling Sky Sports: 'I thought he was fantastic, 21 years old, fourth game in the Premier League and he looks like he has been here for years.'
Danny Ings (Southampton)
Following a desperate struggle with injuries and limited game time at Liverpool, Ings has enjoyed a fresh lease of life in the opening weeks of his loan spell at Southampton.
With goals in their matches against Everton and Crystal Palace, Ings has aleady exceeded his combined goal tally from the past two seasons.
Given that the Saints are to make the deal permanent at the end of the season, his early season form is a very positive sign.
FIVE NEW PLAYERS WAITING TO MAKE AN IMPACT
Alisson (Liverpool)
There was always going to be plenty of pressure on £65m goalkeeper Alisson, but that's no excuse to attempt a Cruyff turn inside your own box.
The Brazilian, signed from Roma to replace the gaffe-prone Loris Karius, attempted the same trick against Brighton last weekend but got away with it.
Alas, his luck ran out against Leicester as Kelechi Iheanacho bundled him off the ball to tee up a goal for Rachid Ghezzal. Luckily for Liverpool, it didn't cost them the game but Alisson will have to be more careful.
Fred (Manchester United)
United were optimistic that Fred, signed for £52m from Shakhtar Donetsk, would be the man to solve a multitude of problems - including their one-paced progress going forward and how to get the best from Paul Pogba.
The Brazilian hasn't quite got up to full speed with the Premier League yet and stuggled in United's defeats to Brighton and Tottenham before being dropped to the bench against Burnley.
Mind you, there are still plenty of opportunities to demonstrate his midfield dynamism between now and the end of the season.
Felipe Anderson (West Ham)
There's always a burden of expectation when you come to a club as their record signing, particularly when you're meant to be a source of goals.
Felipe Anderson, who joined West Ham from Lazio for £40m, has found himself caught up in an absolutely abysmal start to the season as the Hammers have lost their opening four matches.
Things can surely only get better not only for Anderson but the other summer buys manager Manuel Pellegrini made.
Sokratis Papastathopoulos (Arsenal)
Unai Emery brought in the experienced Greek defender to bring some much-needed order to an Arsenal back line far too often found wanting in recent seasons.
But eight goals conceded in their opening four matches - all four completed by £17m signing Sokratis - indicates that more solidity is required.
They looked especially vulnerable at the back in their defeat at Chelsea and even Cardiff City were able to score twice against them. A quick improvement in defence is needed.
Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City)
It was always going to be a tall order for £60m summer signing Mahrez to break into a Manchester City attack that steam-rollers opponents with such regularity.
But having started their season opener at Arsenal, he was subsequently dropped to the bench and when restored against Newcastle on Saturday put in a frustrating performance.
It may be that Mahrez needs two or three months to settle into his new surroundings but with the domestic cups and Champions League starting for City this month, he should get more opportunities.

Kovacic deserves a shout. He hasn't put a foot wrong since he joined us and has shown he's a class apart from any other midfield options we have other than the other 2 starters. I'd say Torreira too, he's been a very capable player in an Arsenal side that's been struggling to get back to their original form. This one probably no one was gonna mention cos he plays for a smaller team but Richarlison has been amazing after joining Everton. Silva is really trying to build a top team. My nominations that are missing imo: Kovacic Torreira Richarlison

For me know jorginho has been the best signing of the season followed by Keita who am quite surprised of not seeing him in the top 5 And the player I think that his best is still yet to come and that will surely impress is the man #fred

jorginho is a good signing for us. he is so vital to our play but he needs to improve his tackling a bit. Guendozi i dont even know if i spelt the name correctly stole my hearg when we played against arsenal; especially the defence splitting pass which aubameyang wasted. and the maddison. i couldd remember our cup game with norwich which we won in extra time. no chelsea player could mark him and i knew right then he would come to premier league

Jorginho is a excellent player and has adapted really quickly and Naby keita has been excellent in the games he started but I think people are giving alisson a lot of praise for nothing without remembering that he's defence is the only reason he's kept 3 clean sheets thus far and James Maddison has been brilliant and Felipe Anderson has shown flashes of his talent also Fred has shown a glimpse of his talent and I think after this break he will come back with confidence

waiting to impress??you have to be kidding haven't you seen him play???he has really helped the team keeping three clean sheets and has been brilliant since the start of the season is it because of the error he made against liecester that's why he was omitted??because in my opinion Alison deserves number one spot one of the best goalkeeper currently at the moment.and is a stronger contender for the golden Boot that's something really impressive
