Eagles fans hold up furious banner following humiliating 5-0 loss to Arsenal

Crystal Palace fans voiced their displeasure at yet another lose on Saturday afternoon with a banner held up in the away end.

Roy Hodgson's side were put to the sword by an electric Arsenal team, who put five past Dean Henderson in style.

Gabriel Martinelli grabbed himself a brace off the bench, with his namesake Gabriel Magalhaes opening the scoring and playing a key role in Henderson's own goal.

Leandro Trossard also broke his goal drought through a lovely flowing move to ensure a wonderful afternoon at the Emirates for Arsenal.

However Palace's tenth loss of the season leaves them fourteenth in the league and just five points above the relegation zone.

And their fans showed their frustrations at the end, holding up a giant banner to send a message to the team, manager and owners.

The banner read: 'Wasted potential on and off the pitch, weak decisions taking us backwards.'

Palace's poor form this season has coincided with injury struggles and the loss of talisman Wilfried Zaha.

The Ivory Coast winger joined Galatasaray over the summer on a free transfer with his mantle set to be picked up by Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise.

However both have struggled with injury throughout the season and thus so have Palace.

The original decision to appoint 76-year-old Hodgson was met with some furstration from parts of the Palace fan base.

It now seems he is most likely heading for the exit door, as former Brighton and Chelsea boss Graham Potter watched on at the Emirates.

Former Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper is also linked with the Palace job and fans will be hoping whoever they bring in can turn their season around.
