Edwards angered by Wolves display as Premier League strugglers lose again

Rob Edwards was left "angry" as Wolves fell to a seventh straight Premier League defeat, going down 1-0 to Nottingham Forest.

The Premier League's bottom club endured another dismal result as their wait for a first top-flight win this season rolls on.

This run of defeats is their worst in the competition since 2012, and with just two points from their 14 matches, relegation looks a certainty.

Indeed, Opta's supercomputer hands Wolves a 97.5% chance of going down.

"I'm really disappointed, I'm angry," Edwards told BBC Sport, having now lost all three of his games in charge of Wolves.

"We lost the game in the first half, no intensity. Didn't take risks, played too safe. It was almost like we were waiting to get beat and that hurts."

Edwards admitted this was a real step back after their performance away to Aston Villa, which was a far more positive display despite the 1-0 defeat on Sunday.

He said: "I was looking forward to tonight, if we could've kept that level up from the weekend, this was a game we could win.

"But this wasn't a reflection of what I want my team to look like."

Wolves have now gone five matches in the league without scoring, and Edwards is keenly aware of the challenges that face his team, who are still without a league win.

"We have to find a way to bring out the best in ourselves," he said.

"The crowd will be with us if we show intent. They want to get behind the team but you have to run, fight and look like you want to win. That wasn't there tonight."

Forest, meanwhile, have now won three of their last four league games under new boss Sean Dyche.

"The hardest fight to win is the one you're supposed to", Dyche told Sky Sports.

"They have got pressure on them and you don't want to be the side to lose to them.

"Credit to them, in the second half they kept throwing things at us, but I'm pleased that we saw it through and got a clean sheet."

Dyche has now picked up five victories in all competitions since taking over from Ange Postecoglou.

He said: "Ten points in six games, we're trying to achieve things and they're doing great.

"They've been listening and tonight is a tricky game, we've had to come here and do different things.

"This is the Premier League and we don't expect anyone to lie down and they didn't. We dug in."
