Childhood Manchester United fan Elisabeth Terland says that winning a trophy for the club she grew up supporting would mean 'that bit extra'.
Holders United face Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday afternoon, knowing they have a tall order in stopping Sonia Bompastor's dominant WSL champions from completing a domestic treble.
But they will have faith in striker Terland, who joined from Brighton at the start of the campaign and has scored 12 goals in all competitions, to help them go all the way and lift a second consecutive FA Cup trophy.
'It's been a good season at a new club. It always takes time when you join a new team to build relationships, build connections, and time always helps in that sense,' the 23-year-old Norway international told Mail Sport.
'It is a team and a club that really suits me, how I play and what I want to do as well, so it's a good fit in that way. I'm hungry for more.
'I want to win things with this team and it means a bit extra playing for a badge that you've always supported. I will always do my hundred per cent to be able to do that.'
United, who have only been competing in the top division for six seasons, are appearing in their third consecutive FA Cup final. They lost to today's opponents Chelsea in the 2023 final, before claiming their first piece of silverware with a 4-0 victory over Spurs at Wembley last year.
Terland added that the team are keen to get 'revenge' against the Blues, who have beaten them twice in the league this season.
'We've lost both our games against them this season on two set pieces, a penalty and a corner. I think especially the last game we played against them (in the league), we showed that we deserved more than a loss from that game.
'I think we are very confident in that we are going to go in and make it a really good game, and we want revenge.'
As for Terland, this afternoon could bring her first major trophy.
'The girls have been talking about the final last year and of course that's something you want to do yourself as well. I'm really excited.'
Tickets for Sunday's final have sold out.
