MANCHESTER UNITED were fortunate to leave the capital with a point if the stats are anything to go by.
Erik ten Hag's Red Devils were shown up by the Bees, but somehow managed to head back north with the points shared.
The 1-1 draw had a dramatic ending when Mason Mount's 96th minute goal was rendered obsolete by a goal up the other end from Kristoffer Ajer just moments later.
But even a share of the spoils seems like a smash and grab from a Manchester United point of view with Ten Hag's side well and truly battered.
Thomas Frank's Brentford peppered the Man Utd goal, registering 31 SHOTS over the course of the game.
The onslaught of efforts from the Bees means Man Utd join Sheffield United as the only other Premier League team to face more than 30 shots in a game this term.
To put that stat into perspective, league leaders Arsenal have conceded just 23 shots in their last THREE games.
While the wider view of the way United are playing is also grim reading for fans with the Old Trafford outfit now facing more shots in 2024 than any other Premier League team.
Their turbulent year has seen them face a whopping 197 SHOTS since January 1.
Man Utd were unable to stop Brentford from threatening too, with the London club continuously causing problems inside their opponents penalty area.
In fact the Bees are the first team all season to have over 80 TOUCHES inside the opposition box after United allowed them to walk all over their defenders.
Brentford finished the match with 85 touches inside the Man Utd penalty area with Ivan Toney registering 15 of those touches alone.
Who could be Man Utd's next manager after Ten Hag?
The England international's 15 touches was just ONE less than the total achieved by Man Utd (16) in the Brentford box.
Despite the incredible attacking threat offered by Brentford, United still manged to cling on and avoid dropping all three points - and it's not the first time they have managed such a defensive feat either.
In fact since the start of the 2016/17 Premier League season the only other team to register over 70 touches was Manchester City in 2019 when they also played Man Utd.
The Red Devils didn't lose that day either - miraculously winning it 2-1 thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
The damning stats on show against Brentford on Saturday suggest that Man Utd need to make some serious changes if they want to improve.
Ten Hag and Co currently sit sixth in the table after a mixed campaign that has seen them lose 11 LEAGUE MATCHES.
The underwhelming performances may lead to new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his Ineos team taking a second look at potential managerial candidates despite the club's league position.

With Onana as a goalkeeper you are already a goal down because he can't keep a clean sheet 🤮
He has second most clean sheets in the league. You know nothing about

having ETH as a coach is like having Patrick star in SpongeBob SquarePants as the coach so so bad for a man who was hyped for being a good coach, now the players don't even know what the are playing

how can united be struggling to get a single point, with players like mason greenwood and Sancho on loan, is that not madness!! if the coach can't afford to style up and know how to handle players why is he still there

Not every shot is good on target is what matters. Shot wayward has nothing to do with the team at all.
It’s show that man divided player can’t even shoot man🤣🤣🤣…even if it’s wayward 🥶🥶🥶

We have ample example of too many shots, but hardly anything on target. Brentford are average team, which is why they are 15 th in table. United always struggle with teams lower in table. When United beat Liverpool 4-3, everybody praises the coach but suddenly he is not good to coach the team. Let's see what happens at the end of season.

Most Of Us Can Still Blame Erik Ten Hag But To Be Honest You Is That These Manchester United Players Are Not The Warriors And Their Not Showing Up Consistency For All And You Can't Aspect Results Which Such Team 🤞

The thing about Manchester United is they don't have any defined pattern of play. Everyone keeps running up and down like headless chicken...

If united win the internet explode a draw or loose is same so no doubt about united enemies. We still with them and surely things will change gradually. Shame on our enemies

Ten Hag not good enough for Man Utd
It is big lie. How many of the club were there to win even in Ivan absent in the team.

This blade man is not deserved to manage a big club like Manchester United. He colpsed the team. we had a chance to win Euro and ucl when Ronaldo was there in second time. But he didn't respect legend and he has too much ego because most of players follow Ronald than this blade waste man

Why thanks him? He is well paid to be a good keeper. Just putting some saves away is decent only

Ten Hag talking about Manchester City and Liverpool in his post match press conference is a bigger problem in my view. Why is Man United keeping a manager who makes nonsensical excuses and does not take responsibility for anything? Beats my head. 🤷
