Emiliano Martinez has been pictured hosting a World Cup party with his Argentina teammates at a luxury hotel nine miles from Villa Park.

The 30-year-old wrote his name into Argentinian footballing folklore for his performances at the tournament, being awarded the Golden Glove after Argentina defeated France in the final to lift the famous trophy for the third time.

With Aston Villa not in action on the weekend after being eliminated from the FA Cup by Stevenage, members of La Albiceleste's victorious squad converged at the hotel in North Warwickshire.

Footage from the event showed the attendees inside a themed event room, adorned with pictures across the walls from their historic victory in Qatar.

Guests could even be seen dancing to music of Latin artist Fer Palacio, forming a circle around the World Cup trophy, placed precariously in the middle of the dancefloor.

Following the event, the group are said to have continued their celebrations by travelling to a local nightclub.

Despite not being a compatriot of Martinez, club teammate Philippe Coutinho was also pictured adhering to the all-white dress code at the event.

Since returning from Qatar, Martinez has also got a tattoo of the famous trophy on his left leg that denied Randal Kolo Muani an almost certain winner in dying minutes of extra time.

It later emerged that the Villa stopper had promised teammates Geronimo Rulli, German Pezzella, Marcos Acuna and Guido Rodriguez that he would get their squad numbers tattooed if the team were to return from the tournament as champions.
