Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has stated that he is in the best form of his life, while stating that the Tofees have 'turned the corner', despite not winning in four Premier League matches.
The England shot-stopper kept his place in their 1-1 draw to Ukraine, despite his club side starting the season with three consecutive defeats.
Pickford showed his quality in their last match against Sheffield United as the England international made an incredible triple save to keep the Toffees in it late on.
Speaking to The Mirror, Pickford discussed his recent form, which he believes to be the best in his career as he said: 'In Russia, I was classed as a rookie, really, and then in football you're never going to have that perfect path. You're going to have dips in your career and it's how you learn from them.
'I feel like it's something I've really worked hard on. I think that's why my performance is consistent and that's why I feel like I'm in the best form of my life.'
Pickford picked up the Player of the Season award at Goodison Park in his last two seasons, showing his importance to the Toffees.
Narrowly avoiding relegation in both campaigns, Pickford will be hoping that his side can push on and not be involved in the battle at the bottom this season.
After a poor start to the season, the goalkeeper believes that his side have 'turned the corner'.
He said: We have turned the corner. Apart from the Aston Villa game (beaten 4-0), the other three fixtures were very close.
'We were in control of the Sheffield United game. We have only one point on the board but we can build on it.'
Everton host Arsenal when the Premier League returns this weekend, with the Toffees beating Mikel Arteta's side last season.
The match was Sean Dyche's first at Goodison Park, and he will be keen to get three points yet again.

This leaking leg Pickford should never ever start in front of Ramsdale, that is criminal. Ramsdale is the best shot stopper in the world any day and anytime.

This statement can’t be true since he is the main cause of his team sitting at the bottom of the league year after year . I’d drop him in a hurry .

Does he realize what this says about his form before? Has he ever played for a Premier League club that hasn't battled relegation?
