England have revealed the shirt for Wayne Rooney's farewell match against the United States on Thursday night.

The official Instagram account of the Three Lions posted a photo of the jersey on Thursday afternoon.

Gareth Southgate's side will wear the white home shirt with 'Wayne Rooney Foundation, England v USA, Thursday 15 November 2018' written underneath the England badge.

The logo of the forward's Foundation, which has been chosen as the official charity for the game, is also on the sleeve of the strip.

Rooney revealed Steven Gerrard was the best player he played with for the Three Lions in an interview with Gary Neville.

After initially responding with Neville with a smile, Rooney told Sky Sports: 'I'd have to say Gerrard. At times he got us through games and at the period where we lost a lot of players.

'Yourself, Rio (Ferdinand), Becks (David Beckham) it was me, Stevie and Frank (Lampard) left.

'Stevie pulled us through our games then.'

Rooney will wear the No 10 shirt when he makes his international farewell against USA at Wembley.

Fabian Delph will captain England for the first time - but the country's all-time leading goalscorer will take the armband when he comes on to earn his 120th cap.

Sportsmail revealed on Tuesday that England's senior players backed plans to pass the captaincy on to Rooney.

To top off a special night, the 33-year-old, accompanied by his four children, will walk onto the pitch under a guard of honour ahead of kick-off before taking his seat on the bench.

Football Association chairman Greg Clarke will also make a special presentation to the former Manchester United striker before the match starts.
