Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca insists that he's happy with his lot amid speculation that the Blues want to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United.
Garnacho, 20, has been linked with a shock move to Stamford Bridge after it emerged that United are willing to listen to offers for virtually their entire squad. The Red Devils are skirting dangerously close to breaching Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules, as confirmed by the club in a recent statement issued to supporters.
Chelsea have been tipped to capitalise with a swoop for £70million-rated Garnacho, who played the full 90 minutes in United's dramatic 2-1 win against Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday. But judging by Maresca's comments, it's not their manager who's pushing to sign the Spanish-born Argentina international.
"I'm happy with what we have at this moment," Maresca said on Friday. "I said many times, on the right side it's Pedro [Neto] and Noni [Maduake], left side Jadon [Sancho] and Misha [Mykhailo Mudryk] was with us, now he's not with us. Tyrqiue [George] is the profile that can help us. In this moment we are okay."
United boss Ruben Amorim, meanwhile, has refused to rule out the prospect of Garnacho leaving before transfer deadline day. Asked post-match if the former Atletico Madrid hotshot had played his final game for United, Amorim replied: "I am focused on the games and he is here, he is here playing for Manchester United. He was really important for us today so let's see in the next days."
Garnacho was a bright spark for the Red Devils in Thursday's win, looking more threatening than in recent weeks. "I think he is improving in every aspect in the game," Amorim added.
"He was better today playing inside, also outside and changing positions. He is improving the recovering position and until 90 minutes he is always there and helping. Sometimes he shows some frustrations because he wants more.
"I think he has potential to be so much better and in these situations of the game. But what I can say is he understood what I am trying to do and I just want to be clear, I am trying to help them. In the end it is them that do the job."
Garnacho, who's also a target for Serie A table-toppers Napoli, is expected to be involved when the 13th-placed Red Devils travel to Fulham on Sunday, looking to get their Premier League season back on track. The 20-year-old has scored eight goals and registered three assists in 33 appearances this season.

If Garnacho was to be sold, he must go to other clubs other than epl teams. Why would you strengthen your rivals.

The reality for MU now is.. their strikers are not good enough. We can see in most of the game, their midfielders score most of the goals.. Nkunku or Osimheim maybe the best choice for MU. Rashford or Garnacho or Anthony or Casemiro.. out will be a good decision for MU

Sometimes I feel coaches are the real devils sent to destroy some unique players. The question is chelsea need to realise that this is not baseball.

so are you saying that the news making around is just united that wants to push him away ? maresca is not straight forward and that serves the English media right.

Since the days of Anelka, we have always had a problem with getting poaching strikers, Aguero and Robinho almost broke the deadlock but we remain a club with managing strikers, only Drogba and Costa gave a bit of a boost, the rest gave me heartache always, strikers like Torres, Pizarro, Falcao, lukaku, re my, demba ba, Shevchenko, Sturridge, batshauyi, morata,
